THE BRIEF
Our client needed complex bathroom modifications to improve accessibility and daily use within their home. The goal was to create a level-entry bathroom that met NDIS requirements and supported the client’s mobility needs. With urgent approval granted in November 2024, J&D fast-tracked the project, commencing works before the Christmas period and delivering a completed space by early February 2025.
OUR APPROACH
We collaborated closely with the Occupational Therapist to refine the scope and ensure all building works aligned with the participant’s long-term needs.
During the project, J&D Contracting:
- Completed a joint site visit with the OT to scope and quote complex bathroom modifications
- Prioritised scheduling to commence works before the holiday period and meet urgent client needs
- Removed existing linings and slab section to enable a level-entry layout
- Carried out rough-ins for new plumbing and electrical to suit the updated layout
- Installed wall reinforcement (plywood sheeting) for current and future grab rails
- Supplied and installed new floor and wall tiling, wall-hung basin, mirrored cabinet, and shower screen
- Installed all tapware, grab rails, and a new cavity sliding door
- Painted all new and affected areas and completed a full builders’ clean
